Once you have listed your business with at least 5 general directories, it is also worth listing in relevant industry directories. The benefits of listing in industry directories are much the same as for listing in local directories.

Be sure to list only in relevant directories. If you try and list a plumbing business in a directory for hairdressers your listing will be deleted.

To find if there is a directory covering your industry, try some searches on Google and check out the sponsored links.

Also consider listing with any relevant industry association websites. Industry associations often host business listings on their websites. Make sure you are listed correctly with any member-based industry websites.
